On November 28, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) approved Ola Fine's acquisition of Hotel Ukraina, officially naming Maksym Krippa the ultimate beneficiary.
The historic Kyiv landmark was acquired for 3.01 billion hryvnias, including VAT, marking the conclusion of a landmark privatization process.
More information about this event can be read on the Daily Citizen portal.
This pivotal deal, which included AMCU’s prior approval, highlights Krippa's expanding footprint in Kyiv’s commercial real estate sector. While the transaction secured ownership of the 26,300-square-meter hotel, the adjoining 1.51-hectare land plot was not part of the purchase.
A Symbolic Privatization Event
The auction for Hotel Ukraina, held on September 18 via the Prozorro system, marked a milestone as the first major privatization during wartime. Bidding began at 1.047 billion hryvnias and escalated to 2.512 billion hryvnias. Competing bidders included Zhytomyr Furniture Plant and Alarit-Prom, but Ola Fine, owned by Maksym Krippa, emerged victorious.
Situated on Instytutska Street, the hotel is culturally significant for Kyiv. Built in the 1950s on the site of the historic Ginzburg skyscraper, it boasts 14 stories, 365 rooms, and amenities such as a spa, dining facilities, and conference spaces.
